Dr Penny Gleeson – Book Launch: The Regulations of Medical Products: Dope, Drugs and Devices’ (Routledge, 2025)

The Law, Health and Society unit was thrilled to celebrate the launch of valued member Dr Penny Gleeson’s book. This important new work develops a theoretical framework for examining and assessing the regulatory arrangements for medical products. The book was formally launched by Professor Ingrid Winship AO (Chair in Adult Clinical Genetics, Melbourne Medical School), followed by a robust panel discussion moderated by LHS Director A/Prof Neera Bhatia. The panel discussion, featuring LHS members Dr Rebekah McWhirter (ANU College of Law) and A/Prof Piers Gooding (La Trobe Law School) covered the intersection between regulation and public health.
